Solar Saviour
A downloadable game for Windows

đ Solar Saviour is an awardâwinning 2D game jam project where you play as the Sun, the heart of a bunny solar system. Your gravity keeps the planets safe in their orbits, but incoming asteroids threaten their survival. Itâs your job to defend them.
đź Gameplay:
- Tap the screen to reveal a glowing area that shows the Sunâs influence and direction.
- Swipe outward to blow celestial objects away.
- Swipe inward to pull them toward the Sun.
- Rotate your mouse around the Sun to change the direction of push and pull.
- Starting from the center area gives you better control.
- While holding click, moving the mouse closer or farther from the Sun switches between push and pull modes.
- Prevent asteroids from colliding with planets.
- Stop celestial objects from drifting into black holes — feeding them makes them stronger and hungrier.
â Scoring:
- Smash asteroids of different colors together for bonus points, while preventing sameâcolored ones from merging into larger threats.
- Keep planets in their original starting orbits to earn extra points.
- Collect stars to gain additional points.
đ End of Each Round:
- Numbers above celestial objects show their remaining durability.
- The ultimate goal is to protect planets until the very last one survives and beat your own high score.
- When the final planet is lost, youâll see the Galaxy Ambulance carrying the wounded, while wealthy bunnies escape in shuttles and the poor flee in balloons. The higher your score, the more popular you become among the bunnies.

As someone who loves space games, I have to say this is impressive. The way the sound volume adjusts in the main menu, the subtle catch when changing a planetâs orbit, the black hole with its light-bending effect, and the fact that Solar Saviour includes a complete tutorial while most other games donât. All of these details really stand out.
Also, I have to give credit to the fact that you guys made the art yourself instead of going for the easy way of using AI to make it for you.
That said, I do have a few suggestions to make it even better. For example, it would be fun if the sleeping bunny reacted to the volume, perhaps waking up when the sound increases. I also think working with consistent color palettes could improve the overall visual harmony, and removing the black outlines around buttons and shapes might make the design cleaner. Finally, because of my systemâs unusual resolution, some HUD elements werenât visible, and I wasnât able to switch to windowed mode.
Hey, thank you so much for taking the time to write this feedback like this genuinely means a lot to us đ§Ą
We are really happy that those small details stood out to you. itâs great to hear they landed.
And thank you for mentioning the tutorial as well since we deliberately prioritized it because we have also been frustrated before by games that throw you in without any guidance and due to the fact our game had a somewhat unique control schema, we were worried that our players might have difficulty connecting with the gameplay.
Also great suggestions and thank you for pointing out the resolution issue and the lack of a windowed mode.
Thatâs on me as i didnât account for uncommon resolutions and couldnt dedicate as much time to play testing the game on different devices as we wanted to and itâs something i will definitely try to fix.
Loved the concept and the gameplay. Visual and sound feedback was fantastic. Did not take me long at all to learn how to play which is a big plus. Nice job.
That is so encouraging to hear, thank you!
We were actually a bit worried about whether the mechanics would be intuitive enough, so Iâm really relieved you found it easy to pick up.
Thanks for making our day!
